The insulation business was established in Junction City, Salina, Abilene, and Manhattan, KS, by
locating houses already under construction, and then bidding the insulation requirements to the
homebuilder. By doing quality work, supplying quick service, and giving competitive prices, we
have established a clientele of homebuilders who call on us to fulfill their insulation requirements
on the new homes they build. We also bid commercial insulation jobs throughout Kansas.
In 1986 we began bidding on spray-applied fireproofing, a requirement for protection of structural
steel buildings. Most hospitals, as well as office buildings and schools require fireproofing,
varying according to local codes and building types. From the insulation business we expanded
our business in 1989 incorporating fireproofing into our applications. In 1995 just seven years
after we began we went from nothing, to over 1 million dollars in business. We have established
a good working relationship with several General Contractors throughout the Midwest who call
on us to fulfill their fireproofing requirements. Our fireproofing crews are well trained, and
perform their work professionally. Spray applied fireproofing expanded our business into such
states as; Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, South Dakota,
North Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee,
Kentucky, Mississippi and Louisiana.
In 1990 due to the expansion of our services, we acquired four semi tractors. We also had
several vans and reefers that were used to haul material to and from jobs sites, as well as haul
brokered loads on a daily basis. From 1990 to 1993 Therm-Seal, Inc. went from 4 semi tractors to a
fleet of 18 tractors and 25 trailers in 2004 of various configurations to meet the ever-growing
needs of our customer base. In late 2002 the decision was made to separate the three divisions
within the Therm-Seal, Inc. On January 1, 2003 TSI Kansas, Inc. was formed as a new Corporation,
TSI Kansas, Inc. would now be an independent transportation company. Do to an ever growing
customer base there are currently plans to expand TSI Kansas, Inc. even further and continue to
acquire contracts because of a dedicated customer base and a safe on time delivery philosophy
with only the best drivers. When the decision was made to make a distinction between the
companies another idea for growth was born, and on April 21, 2004 that idea became a reality and
Therm-Seal, Inc. once again expanded as a Transportation Broker, with the newest division we
anticipate another surge in growth while utilizing our vast experience in transportation and
working relationships that we have earned throughout the years in dealing with various
customers and even new customers.
